Shirts For Bren's Sons

From pattern to cloth. Had to scratch my head on which way the pattern should be placed because apparently the material was just enough for two shirts and there's no room for error. Aduii... The sales lady didn't gave any 'subsidy' i.e. allowance for her uneven scissors cut from the main material.

Tadaa.. The shirts. Unfortunately my sewing machine does not do buttonhole so I have to get the buttonholes done in a shop in Segama. There's a very nice couple there running a shop tailoring for men clothes. Bren said that her sons would be wearing the shirts to her niece's purple themed wedding reception on Saturday, 25 September 2010.

Note: Buttonholes was done by Joanna, the lady next to the couple's shop. The couple broke their buttonhole machine during last minute sewing for Hari Raya. Luckily the husband suggested going to Joanna's shop. She's a nice lady. I must I must get me an electric sewing machine with gadgets one of these days ^_^

Delay is Good

I've finally decided what dress to make out of my girlfriend's pink cloth after a very long delay hehehe.. (^_^) I'm gonna make her a Chinese "Cheongsam". I think it's gonna look very cute. Her husband is mix Chinese-Kadazan, so I think she'll approve. Pssttt.. it's a surprise. Can't wait to start this project. Yeayy.. Delay is good.

Meantime, sewing Bren's shirts for her sons takes most of my time because of the slippery satin material. But I'm enjoying it and can't rest until I've finished attaching the shirt parts. Have to finish by Thursday though. Bummer :P

Highlight of my day today; found a very good sewing site in the net called yousai.net also yousaikoubou at utube. Can't wait to watch and learn more.

Male Baju Raya Project Completed!

Hihihi.. yeayy.. I am very happy with myself for completing my second male Baju Raya sewing project just before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration on 10th September 2010 recently. Tadaa.. \(^.^)/

I am still undecided what to make for my girlfriend though. She left me with this pink cloth material with big roses and said that I can go ahead and make whatever like baju kurung ka. I was thinking of surprising her with a dress but still stuck with the design. Hmm... sexy sleeveless dress (o_O)?? Would have made my life easier if it was Chiffon. Oh well. Need to browse the net for more for pictures.
